Spring has sprung in Northolt
Nothing says Spring more than planting bulbs and the satisfaction of seeing new green shoots emerge, with the promise of the flowers to follow. That’s why a team from Greener Ealing were so pleased to be involved in a community event helping to plant bulbs and flowers with Northolt Resident’s Association.
Prior to the event, our crew prepared several areas, digging and preparing the ground so we could all crack on with planting on the day. Although as with most things, we were victims of the British weather and recent rain means we’ll be back to do more planting at a later date.
You can see that everyone is enjoying getting their hands dirty, especially the head of the resident’s association Marina Kapur and one of our team Evelina Barauska.
Evelina joined Greener Ealing through the Kickstart scheme, she was then signed onto the Queens Green Canopy project a unique tree planting initiative to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.
Evelina’s enthusiasm and commitment has paid off, as she is now a full time Greener Ealing employee in our Grounds Maintenance team. She is also currently being enrolled onto a horticulture apprenticeship. giving her the chance to tend parks and plant many more bulbs in and around the borough in the springs to come.
