Flying the flag for Ealing
Ealing prides itself on being one of London’s most green and leafy boroughs with access to outdoor spaces available to all. These spaces are where residents can take a gentle stroll, have a family picnic, a dog walk or just have the space to sit and contemplate. Therefore they are vital to the wellbeing of the community.
So it was with great pride and delight that this week we received confirmation that Perivale Park, looked after by Greener Ealing’s grounds maintenance team, has just been awarded Green Flag status.
Green Flag Awards
The Green Flag Award® scheme recognises and rewards well managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark for outdoor public recreational spaces across the UK and around the world. There are very strict judging guidelines across numerous categories, from whether it’s a welcoming space with equal access for everyone to assessing whether park visitors feel safe and secure. But most relevant to Greener Ealing’s contribution, parks are also judged on the quality of litter and waste management, horticultural and tree maintenance. This means that 24 parks managed by Greener Ealing now have Green Flag Awards®, which is an amazing achievement. So well done to our grounds maintenance team for their commitment and hard work!
