INTRODUCING GREENER EALING What we do
We are Ealing Council’s waste and recycling contractor and we employ around 350 people to make sure the borough’s streets are kept clean, residents’ waste is collected, and parks are looked after. Every Ealing household and many of the borough’s businesses benefit from the services we offer. We want to grow relationships with our customers and the community, help to drive up recycling rates, reduce waste and achieve a Greener Ealing.
Greener Ealing Ltd delivers services to the borough across four main areas:
- waste and recycling collections
- street cleansing
- grounds maintenance
- running the borough’s two household waste and recycling centres in Acton and Greenford.
You can recycle a wide range of items in the borough using the council’s recycling collection service.
We are working towards a 60% recycling rate by 2022 as a borough and encourage you to recycle as much as possible to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill.
There are different containers for recycling and garden waste collections and we operate food waste collections too. The council supplies kitchen caddies for residents to dispose of leftover food and wheelie bins or boxes for recycling. Clear recycling sacks are available to use for people living in flats.
We have dedicated crews out and about every day of the week, sweeping the streets and keeping the borough clean and free from litter. We want you to be proud of where you live.
In addition, the grounds team looks after the council’s parks and open spaces. They also maintain the borough’s and housing estates.
Community days and volunteering
We are keen to engage with community groups and offer support whenever we can, whether this may be helping to redecorate a community building or community planting scheme. If you have any ideas or would like to discuss teaming up for some volunteering projects please email GELcommunications@greenerealing.co.uk
